I’m David Phelan, a London-based Experience Strategist and Project Lead working across products, services, and interactions.

I spend most of my time thinking about how people actually engage with things, especially when those things live across physical and digital worlds. I’m interested in how interactions connect, how they build on each other, and how an experience holds together as people move through it over time. I’m less drawn to designing moments in isolation and more focused on shaping behaviour and flow.

A lot of my work starts by making something tangible early on. I use sketching and prototyping as a way to think out loud, to learn quickly, and to invite others into the process. Through this, stories and thoughts begin to form more naturally, especially through having a base for strong conversations to occur.

I enjoy working with others and often lead workshops or collaborative sessions to explore ideas together. I’m at my best when I’m helping teams problem solve by thinking, building, testing. I value environments where curiosity is encouraged, craft is taken seriously, and ideas are allowed to evolve through doing.
